Getting Started

It's helpful to check out a few Celebrants before making a decision, to find someone who fits with your style and personalities.  Most Celebrants offer an obligation-free initial consultation (myself included).

Legal requirements

Once you've decided on your Celebrant and your wedding date, get ready to lodge the formal Notice of Intended Marriage with the Celebrant.

Checklist of documents to bring to your interview:

• Original Birth Certificates

• Photo ID (Passport or Drivers Licence)

• Previous Marriage certificate and Divorce papers or Death Certificate of partner, if previously married

• Evidence of change of name if different from the Birth Certificate

​Give some thought to what you would like to happen on the day and who will be involved in your ceremony.
